Legal Services

The McCahon Group uses host nation and United States licensed attorneys to provide a full range of representation to companies performing contracts or seeking to do business in international operations. Attorneys in the McCahon Group are licensed to practice before the Boards of Contract Appeals, Court of Federal Claims, various U.S. District Courts, Federal Appellate Courts, various State Courts, District of Columbia, United States Supreme Court and the courts of Iraq. The staff has represented both the United States Government and contractors in these jurisdictions in matters involving contract claims and disputes.

Consultation & Litigation

The legal services provided by the McCahon Group consist of consultation and litigation. It is our experience that most disputes with the Government can be resolved through a dialogue and negotiations with the government representatives. Occasionally, however, disputes cannot be resolved to the mutual satisfaction of the parties. Disputes may arise when a contractor does not receive an award or during the course of the contractor’s performance. It then becomes necessary to have an independent finder of fact resolve the matter. The McCahon Group draws upon the extensive contract litigation experience of its staff and counsel in order to provide premier representation of your interests in Protests, Claims and Disputes. The McCahon Group personnel represent clients before:

Iraqi Courts

The Contracting Agency

The Boards of Contract Appeals

The Court of Federal Claims

United States District Courts

Court of Federal Appeals

United States Appellate Courts, and

The General Accounting Office (GAO)

Audits

Congress has mandated that agencies awarding reconstruction contracts in post conflict areas conduct audits of the contractors' performance, including contract compliance. The Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) is responsible for performing the audits.

DCAA audits can be a protracted and painful experience. This situation often develops when the contractor does not know how to properly respond to the audit, or perceives the action as an adversarial event. The staff of McCahon Group has overseen and conducted government contract audits and knows how to properly respond to DCAA inquiries. They have also represented clients in multiple audits related to the Iraqi reconstruction effort. The staff has been successful in all instances.

The attorneys and auditors for McCahon Group will work with the DCAA staff and facilitate their efforts while ensuring that your rights are not compromised.
